Hands-On Science Professional Staff Development Workshops

Hands-on science professional staff development opportunities for individual schools, districts, afterschool programs, and public and private organizations. Diana offers half-day, full-day on-site workshops, and extensive multiple-day institutes. During these workshops participants can expect to increase content knowledge and be introduced to new and effective methods of disseminating science concepts to their students in an atmosphere that is highly interactive, engaging, and exciting. Full-day workshops and multiple-day institutes allow teachers to be exposed to a greater depth of content knowledge in addition to being introduced to effective teaching practices and ideas. Diana has provided over 100 Family Science Workshops reaching over 5,000 families. Family science workshops allow parents and children to actively explore science concepts together via a hands-on, inquiry-based approach. Workshops are 2 hours in length, and available on weeknights and weekends. In addition, school districts can hire Diana to conduct lengthier professional staff development family science workshops to train teachers, administrators, and parents to conduct family science workshops within their own schools and districts.

During the past 25 years Diana has conducted over 12,000 hands-on science programs to students of all ages at both public and private schools. The hands-on science programs are standards-based, engaging, and most of all exciting. Diana offers over 60 different programs covering all areas of science from exploring The Nature of Matter to Life Science concepts. Many of Diana’s clients schedule her to conduct student programs in addition to the professional staff development workshops. This enables teachers to observe Diana modeling methods and ideas introduced during the workshops in a “real classroom setting“.
