Welcome to The Think Like A Scientist Blog. This blog provides a portal for sharing my interest and enthusiasm in exploring the natural world, as well as promoting scientific literacy for all. As you visit this blog you will find my observations of the natural world. I believe that many individuals are too busy to observe all that nature has to teach us, so I will take the time to explore nature up close, and share my observations with you. I will also make posts related to the latest breaking news in the scientific world. Last, many of my posts will be focused on science education, science educators, and teaching and learning in general with an emphasis placed on science.
About Diana Wehrell-Grabowski, PhD.
Dr. Diana Wehrell-Grabowski, the author of Think Like A Scientist, is an independent science education consultant. Diana has been in academia for twenty-eight years. Diana earned her Master’s degree in Curriculum and Instruction in Science Education from the University of Guam, and a PhD in Science Education from Florida Institute of Technology. Diana brings with her a diverse background. Having spent eight years in the classroom teaching science at the junior high and high school levels, as well as science methods courses at the undergraduate and graduate level as an adjunct professor. The bulk of Diana’s involvement with academia has been as an independent science education consultant. Through this position Diana travels extensively throughout the nation as a staff development consultant, providing hands-on science workshops, extended summer training institutes, and interactive keynote presentations to teachers, administrators, and parents. Additionally, she provides hands-on science programs to students of all ages.
Over the past twenty-two years Dr. Diana Wehrell-Grabowski has provided over 600 teacher workshops, inspiring thousands of teachers. She has been a keynote speaker, featured speaker, and presenter at over 70 regional and national educational conferences. Additionally, she has provided over one hundred hands-on science Family Science workshops, reaching over 5000 parents and children. Diana believes that to be an effective professional staff development consultant you must spend time in the classroom with the teachers and students, over the past twenty-two years she has provided over 13,000 hands-on science programs to students of all ages in hundreds of public and private schools, after-school programs, summer camps, library programs and beyond.
