Shrimp Claw Design May Help To Create High-Tech Military Armour

Scientists are studying the appendages of the mantis shrimp which are extremely strong but lightTeachers explore biomimicry during STEM teacher training workshop conducted by Dr. Diana Wehrell-Grabowski weight. Engineers are interested in studying the design of the mantis shrimp appendage and applying similar principles to developing high-tech military armour that would be light weight yet strong. When conducting STEM teacher training workshops, I always introduce teachers to the principles of biomimicry. Not only are biomimicry practices the foundation of STEM education,when teachers  introduce K-12  students to the principles of biomimicry it helps to develop and strengthen critical thinking and problem-solving skills in the students.
